re-gearing 8.25 27spline. can go to 29?

I am regearing my 27spline 8.25 to 4.56 and was going to replace the carrier anyway. Can I just buy the carrier for a 29spline and new axels or is there a difference I don't know about? Thanks for the help. cheers

i am pretty sure you can, you will need new spider gears also.

Yes you can, search, it's been done many times.
I think the Axles and gears sticky at the top of the forum should have info on it.
