I have been hearing about it on the radio. Sounds like it would be fun but sounds like something that would have to be HIGHLY watched over so something stupid doesn't happen and get moab closed... I am just putting a thought out there...

My GF e-mailed that to me (she may get irritated that i'm always on here, but she still looks out). Unfortunately for me, the minimum tire requirement is 33's. However i'm locked rear, and have a winch, neither of which are requirements but very helpfull, WTF.

I may go to that... its the first I've heard of it but its only a few days before Fall Fling which I was planning on going to anyway. And the way things look now I'll have 4.88s and a detroit in the rear by then, trussed and possibly linked too, so that's gotta help :D

I went to pick it up, turns out it's got 44 guts, its trussed and set up for a 3 link, and its got 4.88s and a detroit. The only thing actually from a 35 is the housing :gee:

Has anyone done this run with KBPI before? I'd be a little leary about going on this with KBPI. Does anyone here remember the infamous KBPI MudFest a few years ago? They got into really big trouble with that and because of it many trails in Caribou got closed.

What? I need to have matching gears? I thought as long as I'm not in 4wd...

He threw in a new-in-box set of gears and a new carrier for the front end, and a Reid Racing HD steering knuckle, and some fancy-ass brake pads.
And I still have that gear install coupon from COfest :D

Whoa..... well looky you Mr. Big Time with all the goodies! I forgot you had that gear install coupon - Terry will do a good job for ya.

Also - weld the housing to the tubes. D35's are prone to busting the rosette welds holding the tubes and sending the pinion straight upward..... ask me how I know..... :looney:

But definitely don't get the illusion that because you have the Super 35 kit that you can go blasting those 33's over everything.... When you go 4:88 you gotta remember you're decreasing the overall size of the pinion gear and the surface area those teeth are in contact with on the ring gear. A 5 speed can add to the potential for failure of the parts as well so...... take it easy on the skinny pedal.

Good advice, I'll keep that in mind. Apparently the guy has been running it for the past 7 months on 39s... I'll top out at 35s, no need for 39s. Of course I'll need to get a bit taller to stuff 35s, and I have the lift parts needed, but I'll also need a SYE kit, which I don't have the $$ for right now, so that's a little ways off.

Hey, Frank Z has one for sale! I'm sure if you just asked him to hold it......

Nah, I shouldn't go there....... :D

Yeah lol, about that... I told him back when he first posted it that if he doesn't sell it off by the time I get some $$, I'd be interested. But there's still that damn $$ issue lol

Lift is the last thing you need to worry about before cramming 35's.
Not that I got greedy and tossed 35's under my rig just to break every effin part shortly after doing so or anything......
(ask around. Everyone LOVED my F@#K broke another part threads)

Yeah I've been reading up. Which is why I won't be going to 35s anytime soon... upgrading everything costs lots of $$, and all I have to my name is a few pennies and a nickel that are sliding around on my floorboard.
But if I WERE to be heading towards eventually running 35s , which I am, I'd probably get a little bit taller first cause it's the cheapest upgrade I'd need to do. Its still a ways out though :/
