Brake Calipers.

Are the 1990 XJ 4.0 ABS calipers the same as the non Abs calipers?

I have recently swapped out my ABS Master Cylinder and pump to a 1989 XJ 4.0 Non Abs, regular plain jane master cylinder. I have bled the brake system but the brake pedal seems low and spongy.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? Some will tell you that you don't need to do it, but I've had better luck when replacing a MC in doing so. Also, when replacing a MC, you're at the very beginning of your brake system, and you have to systematically go through everything to make sure you get all the air out of it.

I've had great luck with a reverse bleeding system, and I swear by it. It's the best way to do it by yourself.
