mj first start up hesitation

i just bought an 87 jeep comanche and had a question about a problem i have. the motor runs okay when first fired up but until it warms up it almost dies when you give it gas. now it sounds like a rough idle when cold situation i know but whats weird is even when the motor is warm and i fire it up at first it will do the same thing till i drive it for a mile or so then its fine and runs excellent. Im thinkin its the idle air controle sensor but not positive. just need some second opinions.

checked the o2 sensor? when the motor warms up that's when it goes to closed loop and starts using the o2 sensor input. A slow o2 sensor would give flase readings at first, then level off at an acceptable fuel mixture.

id change out the fuel filter too. just a thought. maybe clean the TPS as well
