Now, if they only do something about the suspension, weight, engine, tranny, etc.

Why do they keep making it smaller ?? BTW the rear of that jeep is hideous.

What are you talking about? Did you even read the article? :D
The above comparison was made much easier since a supplier conveniently parked this undisguised prototype nose-to-tail with a current Liberty. The comparative profiles also reveal the new Liberty's upsized stature-both in wheelbase and overall length-benefiting passengers and cargo capacity alike. The extra space has also enabled the next Liberty's undercarriage to be repackaged to make room for a spare tire placed beneath the rear bumper, instead of perched on the tailgate, as it is on the current model. The change allows the '08 model to have a conventional hatchback design instead of the left-hinged, swing-out tailgate that graces today's Liberty.-KGP Photography

I like it.
It looks much better than the rounded, smaller, uglier version.

What do you want, an XJ? This stuff is cutting edge tech, not your back-woods frenchy four wheeler with an archaic solid front end and rear leaf suspension. How about a modern V6 with more power, torque AND better economy? Get real folks, your XJ is not even second best anymore.

'84-'01.
Looks like a TLC to me. Not bad, but what's the difference between it and the Commander? Seems to me that DCX is trying to put out a continuum of cloned and rebadged watered down SUV's just like GM and FoMoCo. Did you know there is an upscale Chrysler version of the Durango called the Aspen?
The MB G55 is the only good one left, and that is priced in the stratosphere.

There actually several. Go the website called lostkj.com, or something like that. There they show about three. All pretty nice, but only one really got it right, with 1 ton axles. The rest used d30 fronts out of tj's or xj's.

Personally, I really do like the looks of the old KJ better.
And they're not nearly as bad as people make them out to be.

Looks like a modern-day Cherokee... if it only had a solid front axle...

Much better. I like it. Still some things I would change but I'm pleasantly suprised . Leeps and bounds better than a KJ. I like what I'm reading about them too, I think I'd actually purchase one of those KK's (not till 2012)

It looks like a Libby got ass raped by a H3 and this is the butt-baby that came out.
When will the assholes learn to just bring back the XJ? Let's see....kill off one of the most popular vehicles....EVER...replace with it's gay little brother....within a few years, try to make it more like the XJ. :banghead:
I swear, if I could buy my '89 brand new today, I would be all over it. I don't need any of the modern computerized crap. I am pretty sure there will be no Libbys on the road in 17 years.

Hey, hit that website. Apparently, you need a cool front page and sound effects to make KJ's seem cool.
