Hi-lift location

Okay, I have checked some threads and have not been able to find anything. I am trying to decide on a semi-permanent place to keep my hi-lift. I usually just keep it in the garage and when I go on trips I either strap it to the rack on top or throw it in the back (no back seat)... I am not to crazy about either of these two options and I think they are about all the options I have... Has anyone found a way to mount their hi-lift either in or out of their cherokee that they would recommend?

I built a storage rack in my 94 2dr that bolts up in the stock spare tire location, and keeps the Hi-Lift up along the window. Keeps it inside out of the weather and thieves' hands, and keeps it up over the load so it's easy to get at.
