Sierra Fest 2009 Trip Report

KICK ASS TIME!!!! As always it was great to see everyone..... I didn't have a camera so unfortunately I have no pix to post. DSXJ took some with his camera phone and Loren's girlfriend took some as well.

what a good time! this was my first time out with you guys and heading up the 4 lane I started wonder what I was getting myself into. well all I can say is I'm ready for next year! everybody was really cool and the group dynamic was great. Ben thanks for "holding my hand" on swamp the first day ;). Eric, thanks for bringing the 1st place truck at baja in your class...a real confidence builder for me as I followed you up the switchbacks to the trail ;). Goatman thanks for the u-turn on Rooster rock, now I know how guys felt when they played against Jordan or had to fight against Ali.... Mark thanks for the spot and not calling me a @#*@%.

Great trip everyone. Got to do some night wheeling, some night wrenching, and plenty of hanging out with some great people. Thanks to Richard for leading the Bald Mtn run on Sunday. Swamp was a fun trail wheel with some really great views along the way.

Got a few pics before the battery died, they are still on the memory card in the camera.

Yeah, had a good time on Bald Mtn, sorry so many of you guys bailed. Jes and I went to Brewer Lake, very nice lake and campsite, we were very glad to be there. Went on a nice hike on Mon to the top of the ridge and saw another lake and great views all around.

I gotta say: the braking is significantly better with the D44. I don't know if that has to do with the way the brakes are designed, having more pad, or if the D35's brakes were just bad, but the stopping power is definitely better. And my parking brake actually works!!!
