XJ vs YJ

Okay, I'm not sure where to post this, but it IS relative to my XJ's. My brother has a YJ (87), and I was wondering if anyone knew if the Steering Column is the same in the trucks, maybe like the motor(or trans although idk that one.)... Anyone have a clue?

It all depends what year your XJ is. According to your profile you have a 96. In that case no it will not fit as you for one have airbags and an 87 YJ does not. The earlier jeeps used mostly GM style steering columns. You might be able to fab it in to make it fit but that would be totally up to you, and not worth it in my book. What is wrong withyour steering column you currently have in your XJ?
