Limit strap on motor mount bolt?

Ehhhh I wouldn't. It's just that much more stress on the motor mount. Your best bet would be to weld a clevis mount to the "frame" rail.

There are more threaded holes in the framerail, behind the motormounts. I've been using those for a couple years with no issues.

That's exactly what I did. You'll have to drill the hole in the strap out to 9/16" to fot on the LCA bolt. I've probably pre-ran, flogged my jeep harder than anyone here (that one's for you CrazyJim) and it's held up fine.
