I remember hearing about this last year, and I'm glad to see they have made a lot of progress. The Yacolt Burn is only about 15 minutes from where we live. It would be great to have some trails close by.

I'll put the clean-up on the calendar, but that's the same day is the Cascade Cruiser's annual run.

Thanks for the heads up Scott. I bookmarked their forum, and will keep an eye on it.

I read several months ago about a few new 4x4 trail systems planned for the 4610 area, as well as another larger area on the East face of the Cascade range. I don't have time to find the information now, and I suspect it is on the back burner due to financial reasons. When I have time, I'll try to find it and post a link.

Come on people. this is for a great cause. MORE TRAILS in the PDX area. just think of how hard it is to OPEN new trails.. when so many places are actually getting shut down!

aka..bump

I'm going to put in for the weekend of the 26th off to make this clean-up (then maybe run TSF on Sunday :shhh:).

If anyone is planning on making it plug this into Google Maps for directions to the staging area.

The Pick Up the Burn event will now be staged out of the

instead of the Big Mama Gravel Pit.

I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause - the reason for the change was unforseeable and the Jones Creek Trailhead is the only other location in the forest that can handle an event of this magnitude.
My huge favor of the day is to those of you who do such a phenomenal job of spreading the word to other forums to please re-distribute this communication calling out the new location.
Following and attached, please find the revised flyer. Or you can go back up to my original post (which I have updated) and copy & paste again to your respective locations.

Please try to erase ANY and ALL mention of the events original location.

Thank you in advance for your assistance with this request - I will make every effort to ensure that this doesn't happen again...

TTT :wave1:

My tentative plan is to show up for this event, and then head to TSF either Saturday night (anyone camping that weekend) or Sunday morning.

Amazing turn out today!

2 boats, 1 torched ZJ, a complete living room set, about 30 tires, 3 hot tub covers, and about a million shotgun casings were picked up.

Huge props to Pistons Wild for all the effort they put into this project, along with the DNR for their willingness to help out as well. It's going to turn the area completely around when it's finished. 30 miles of legal trails for 4x4's, campground facilities, staging facilities, ect. Hopefully the $1800 that was raised today will help move this project along.

Now if all the tweakers would just quit yarding their junk out there. :nono:

So what happened Scott did you over sleep? :D

I was going to post up when I got home on Friday, but it slipped my mind. It's all good though. We had 105 volunteers and 17 different clubs show up for the event.
