d30 disco axle

I have my hub off and the passenger side outer shaft is out too. Does the seal pull out through the axle tube or does it pop down into the shift motor housing? in other words do i push or pull?

it goes into the disco when pushed out. so push into the diff center section. i removed the carrier to put it back in. i used a socket the same outside diameter and put it in place.
