Alright I know how some of you guys feel about mud, but I like it and I wanna go play in some. Problem is though I don't know where to find any. The best mud I've found so far was at the RZO Farm, but that was more sand than dirt.
Anybody know of some? The closer to Denver, the better...

Kipling and quincy. IIRC its on the west side of kipling... Not hard to find. that is what made me HATE mud LOL. so it might make you have a good spot to go to.

Awesome, that's like 8 miles away from me. Hell I may hit that up tonight.
On google maps it just looks like a big field... where do you go from the intersection?
Kiefer316
August 16th, 2009, 18:32
You can turn left... and then its really hard to miss but you will see it... is a turn on the right side...

Cool. I'll probably go check it out tomorrow... I don't wanna end up stuck there at night.
Speakin of which... how deep is it? Is there a good chance of getting stuck?
Kiefer316
August 16th, 2009, 18:38
There is a very good chance of getting stuck if you are stupid about it. But its not that big of a chance. If you hit it up tonight i will go with just cause... I like to watch...
Skully I was actually about to say that... It is a big open field. And my buddy says that is what its for.

Drive down I-25 till you Hit Raton, head east to Amarillo. Take 287 to 308 and take 308 to I-20. Take I-20 to I-49 and head south. Then take a left on 190 and head east about 25 miles. Take a right on the levee and proceed 1 mile to the first road left at the flood gates. Go 1 mile and see this on the left.

Use caution and don't go alone or you might end up like these guys.

That seems to be everybodie's attitude around here.
We definitely have some awesome crawling, but that doesn't mean we can't play in the mud sometimes too.
Thanks for the tip though, it looks pretty fun.

I had to razz a lil ;). Truth be told I kinda like mud, I just hate what it does to my jeep. Have fun and don't wheel illegally.

Well it's 8:45........ I'm a bit late, but that's school property on the north west side, and Jeffco Parks/Recreation on the south west side of Quincy and Kipling. As stated, the north east is Fed. Prison property which leaves the south east which is undeveloped subdivision.......
You guys are defiinitely risking a trespass citation.......... :nono:

Not that I have anything against mud bogging just not my forte............
Most legal mud wheeling in Colorado is on a trail and usually the sections are filled and packed after a short period of time. Then they either let people continue to drive on the trails or that area gets closed IE; Slaughter house for example.
Stay the trail asks to be light in muddy areas on the trail as not to cause ruts, major erosion and damage. People do not usually listen though and trails get nice gates put up...........
Mudding in the city is a major concern because as Yella stated in his previous post. Property is either federal, state, city, or private owned. If I own a piece of land and am going to develop on it and find some yahoos went wheeling on it, I would be pretty pissed. All in all you have to go in front of a judge to answer for the fun. Get my drift guys? If you want to go mudding, go to C.O.R.E. (http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=135)......$20 entry and you can mud, rock crawl, race whatever......

We were on the NW side... but there weren't any signs posted :dunno:
There was a big area we drove around in and there were fences on the east and north sides, but the fences were around the land on the other side, not on the side we were on. And like Kiefer said there were other vehicles playin around there. And the mud pit that I flew out of had definitely seen some use before we got there.
You sure that its ALL school property?

Typical........
No signs so it's ok
Other people doing it so it's ok
It's been going on for a long time so it's ok
I'm gonna start a new trend - doing donuts on your front lawn.
There's no signs so it's ok........
Anyone else wanna help add to the "Other people doing it so it's ok" part?
Just curious........ Are you of the belief that because a plot of land doesn't have a fence around it, or have signs posted or anything built on it that it ISN'T owned by anyone? Does that make it public domain?
Here's a tip: Public lands are the best marked/signed lands around....... pretty easy to assume that if there's no signs - it's private property - especially in suburbia.
Rant off.
Do you know how difficult it was for me to NOT call in a favor with my Jeffco S.O. boys???? I was this close to asking a few of 'em to go harass you guys.......

When I was 16 and had my first cherokee (which was an 84') my buddys and I decided to go wheeling at a near by desert which was well used by motorcycles, atv's, and 4WDs.
There were no signs whatsoever or anything out there and just looked like open desert, right when we were about to clear the last hill I got high centered and stuck pretty good, about a half hour of playing with that here comes the cops to tell us that this is the local water companys private land and that we are tresspassing. Like I said no signs or anything around to tell us such a thing. Nonetheless I had to pay a tow truck to pull me outta there and do 60hrs. of community service which was a pain in the ass.
I learned ignorance is never an excuse. And these days I do my research when I go out.
Theres my .02

Alright I will not go there anymore. I don't usually like wheelin unless its in the mountains anyway.

Colorado Springs has an ordinance against driving off road in city limits, wouldn't surprise me if Denver and its burbs did also.

Not a fan of mud. No progression i dont think but to each his own. The springs... Ha... You will get a ticket for sneezing to your left after 2 pm on a wednesday here. Lol. And knowing you were somewhere wrong its bad idea to post pics or video. Not that i would know anything about that...
