current setup
healthy 2.5, 5 speed ax5, np231 488gearing 33s-35s

i was wondering if a auto tranny swap would be a good idea
pros(for me) wife can wheel it and i can start a new project

cons up to the readers with some time using the 2.5 and an auto
how would it run offroad and on the highway i cross a lot of mountain passes and the 2.5 with 488 is just bearable with 33s i want to upgrade to 35s in the future aswell
i am adding a doubler so offroad gearing is not an issue with 35s wondering more about the preformance on the highway

What year rig is it? I believe the Renix years, the TCU was seperate, compaired to the HO years, where the TCU was not.

It should do good with 4.88's and 33's on the freeway, IMO.

what model(s) auto trannys fit the 2.5
i searched and not that many people build a 2.5 jeep these days with the availability of the 4L i quess i am a little f-ed up that way
