91 xj won't run

My 91 xj died on the trail and we could not get the thing to start. Found out it blew the engine control maxxi fuse, swapped it for another, ran for a minute, died again, fuse blown again. Changed fuse again, will not start. No power to the coil. Pulled codes 12 and 42. Got the thing home, replaced the crank sensor, still nothing, but now only shows code 12. Where should I go from here? My guess is the pick-up coil in the dist. Any help is appreciated.

I would suggest figuring out why that fuse blew multiple times...they do that for a reason. That reason could be your solution

It has a new fuse in it and it won't start. Something else has to be wrong right? Anyone else blow that fuse? Maybe point me in the right direction to where the short may be.
