Tires: I've searched for weeks! HELP

Ok I have a 88 stock XJ, It has some goofy 15"x10" wheels on it and some stupid 245/60/R15's on it. I want to put a taller tire on it so I thought that a 255/70/r15 would be good but now that i look at it more I dont know if it will fit or not? Anyone running this size tire? Or know of a tire fitment guide for XJ's??

What size tire is that in inches? Generally speaking a stock XJ can handle a 29" tire totally stock with no trimming.

they are about 29's

They are 29.1" according to the manufacturer specs but they are really wide

yea they will fit the original owner of my cherokee had 31's on it stock. they would roll just as long as you didn't do any offroading when pullin a trailor it rubbed in the back. i quickly got smaller tires but the 29's will fit just as long as the spacing on the wheel is correct.
