Crossmember Nuts?

:confused::banghead: :helpme the bolts that attach my trans. crossmember/skid plate to the frame rail no longer tighten down. these are the bolts not the nuts.
when they get to that point they just spin as though they are stripped.
anyone had a similar situation?
how did you fix it?
I thought about trying to run a tap through them and rethread them to the next size up.

Unless the nuts broke loose in the frame. In that case it is drill or blue wrench time.

Sounds like you broke the tack-weld that holds them in place. I think that's the "blue wrench" lt1 is talking about too...flames.
