Not sure if this is right forum, but since I'm going to hauling a modified XJ with it this seemed about as correct as any. Not sure about the trailer weight, but I'd be willing to bet that it's over 5000 pounds just between the XJ and trailer.
Anyway, I started looking at trucks (yes, it's got to be a truck for other reasons as well have an 8 foot bed) and got a SERIOUS case of sticker shock! 4wd is necessary because of where I'm moving to in the next year, a diesel would be nice too, and an automatic transmission is an absolute must, a regular cab is fine since it's just me and my dog, maybe a friend too.
So now I'm thinking about taking a look at the used truck market. I know that there are enough opinions in here that I can get a few suggestions. I don't even know where to start on this one. Consumer reports is really no help, since they basically hate anything that's 4wd except for Hondas and Subarus. One thing that I thought would be kinda' cool is to get a J10 or J20 and restore it, but it's been a couple of years since I've even seen one of those.
