front axle problem

I came home from wheeling and i noticed what smells like and feels like front diff fluid leaking from my axle where the shaft slides in by the knuckle. It leaked a pretty good sized pool. Any thougts on what i broke????

Bad seal.

ok now how hard is it to fix and how do you go about fixing it???? Ive never messed with axles before :(
