At first, I was glad he was okay....

Then I read that he was in an area that he wasn't supposed to be....idiot.

I love listening to how stupid some reporters can be with questions like "Is a Jeep Wrangler a typical ATV" lol what a retard

Most news people do fine when reading off a teleprompter. But if they have to improvise during a live feed such as this rescue or a police pursuit, they can say the dumbest things.

Yeah I love the idiot reporters lol. Oh and regarding the land being blocked off, it was about a year ago that they decided to block it off but they did a very poor job of it. The reporters say there are signs everywhere but really, it's very very easy to find your way in this place without seeing one sign or fence. It used to be a very popular riding area and many people still don't know it's illegal. The guy probably knew but I still feel for him because that should have been fenced off. I called it in back in March and Peoria said they would fence it off. I've seen no effort. The trail right next to it suddenly get very rough and on your right are shrubs but on the left is an obvious opening to turn around, however, you can't see the ground over your hood because it's slightly inclined and bam. The hole is right there. I'm sure I wasn't the first caller. The only reason I saw it was because it starts out as a little dip and I didn't want to get stuck in sand that might have been at the bottom of it(2WD) so I backed up to find that it wasn't a little dip. I am very familiar with the hole he fell in. The guy's fine and the damn thing is like a trap. I almost ended up being the on in the hole months ago. Literally inches from. After I found it in that way, we went back out to it several times to see what was down there. The news reported it as a 100 ft hole. It might push 35 ft. Maybe. We rappelled down it in March. We went back out as soon as we heard about this and looked around. Here are some pictures.

This one is hard to see but you can see where his tire dug in as he decided to crank it to the left to avoid the rough terrain ahead:

AshtonPJ,

I understand what you're saying regarding the way the trail is marked. It's easy to stray especially when there are tracks from others that don't care it's closed. We have that problem here in WI. We've lost hundreds of miles of trails in the state. A lot of them we've run for years. Now, you better be paying attention where you are. That's why I always use my GPS but even then you can still be somewhere you weren't suppose to be.

Hopefully, this is the case here. The wrong people will always try to use stuff like this for ammo.

:peace:

x2 my thoughts exactly. Illegal wheeling gives us(4wd community) all a bad name no matter where or who is doing it. We loose enough trails trails already, but when people are reported to be illegally wheeling that fuels the anti-wheelers and gives them more fuel for there fire to push to shut down even more trails.

Bottom line here is...
Please do not add fuel to the anti-wheeling groups by doing illegal wheeling

We weren't wheeling out there. We walked. That's perfectly legal. Thank you. I'm not an idiot. Though I appreciate the concern.

The Wrangler and the Vdub are clown cars, and the real circus is at the bottom of the hole.
