hi i do not feel comfortable welding on my unibody plus i feel like i might run into some problems with the install... has anybody in the atlanta area done this install? i have been quoted up to 700 dollars at my local 4x4 shop and i know they will do it right but after the welding i know it is pretty much bolt on... so can anybody help me? i can compensate for the time either cash, beer, food or both and i do not have access to a welder i would need that as well... thanks in advance.

I just installed that kit. The welded parts also bolt on. Bolt the whole kit on and then find a good/great welder to come bye and zap it a few times. Also up hook your computer before welding! You also need some kinda of torque bar for the rear. Their leaf springs are crap and flaten/twist after one weekend of wheeling. I cant believe the tech guy said I need it after I F'ed the springs up and the kit dosent even come with one :sure:

The blocks came with the kit. Im running everything as the lift system that Rock Krowler sells. You would think they would know better and or if it needed a track bar (as the tech said) then the kit would have included it instead of letting everyone trash their lifs. BS

Racing-
what kit are you running?
aparke4-
bolt the lower mounts on as per the instructions and then have them welded. once they are welded do the rest of the install.

huh that sounds like a plan... can i install everything and get rid of the drop brackets and then drive it not welded to get it welded? so will it be ok bolted on to drive a few miles? thanks guys i am going to start when i can get enough courage to get outside and not freeze my nuts off... thanks again
edit: oh yeah this is just for the front long arm upgrade only

i would suggest not driving it with just it bloted up. the 2 bolts that hold the lower control arm brackets on wont be able to with stand the pressures of driving. when i did mine i bolted the brackets on and had everything ready to weld. i took the jeep to get it welded during the week and then i did the rest of the install over the weekend. that was the nice part about the kit. you dont have to have the rig down for an extended amount of time or have a shop do the complete install.

you can just bolt the new lower mounts under the t case (keep stock arms in place) then drive it to a weld shop, have them buzz them on and go home and finish the lift. He does not mean drive with the 3 links just bolted on.

Hell yea they are tight. That was the picture after 1 weekend. They have only been on less that 2 weeks. I wheel it hard though and its going to see tq. Maybe I got the show car lift from Rock Krowler :gag:

Racing4Fun.... I dont know much but I would say the block AND SHIM are causing the issue you have.
ALSO, are you sure the shim was supposed to go on top of the block? In the picture it looks like your U-bolts are even bent?
If you want to run shims and blocks I would recommend cutting the block down to the correct angle and getting the shim out of there.

Dude all of that is Rock Krawler crap. The shims are welded to the springs. I dont know. They said that they would replace the springs. What more than can I ask for than it not happen again! Im going to start a post to ask about a Tq arm or something that can use to keep from that
