My power antenna died a few months ago, but it died standing up so I left it alone untill a few weeks ago.
Heres a pictoral:

Stuff I had to take off before I could remove fender.

Mechanical/Electrical "stuff" that makes it stop/and go.

Heres my problem: busted weedwacker type thing that pushes/pulls the antenna up and down.

Power antenna - was it a stock option, or did you install an aftermarket one ?

i'm assuming that's a factory power antenna? there's a mast repair kit for that: 4741282, it runs about 50 bucks if i remember right. it has the white "weedwacker" drive tape and the antenna mast.

For future reference, an easier way to get to the antenna motor it to take off the tire and then pull out the wheel well liner....

MUCH-MUCH easier that what you did.

Take your antenna motor to the local pick & pull.
Many vehicles have motors similar to that one.

I got a direct replacement out of a '95 Cadillac Sedan DeVille.
It was in the trunk, but the motor was an exact match - and it worked great!
It was made by AC Delco if I remember right.

Good Luck!
