Any have a front driveshaft with 1310 joints and a double cv?. I have a 6.5" lift and my stock shaft will pull out if I flex it too much. I hav'nt tried this yet but I know it will happen. I'm willing to trade my stock shaft plus cash for a used custom shaft or something a couple inches longer in length that will fit.

not to bust your bubble, but most custom shafts are CV which means they have a slip joint on the shaft itsself. this is because most people upgrade with a SYE that does not allow the driveshaft to slide out of the Tcase... so youll need a SYE anyways...

What type of front suspension are you running?? I have 8+" of lift and long arms, and am still running the stock front shaft. With short arms, if anything the shaft collapses on axle droop (axle tucks under the XJ more as control arms swing down) and a shorter shaft is needed.....

Are you sure you need a longer shaft? May want to flex it up and see what happens.

You might be right about the shaft collapsing when drooping the axle. I have a 6.5" lift in the front w/ TNT Customs' Y-Link. The rear end is still not finished yet so I have not been able to flex the front end yet. I was concerned that the front shaft will not work because when it's in at rest, the shaft is extended to 3/4" of it's fully extended length. I guess I'm going to have to flex this thing when I get it on the road and find out if it'll work.

You'll be fine. If you notice where the lower long arms mount and where the front driveshaft connects to the x-fer case, the hinge point (or CV in the case of the driveshaft and control arm mounts in the case of the long arms) is in similar proximity when you look across from the drivers side of the jeep. Because of this, the slip in the driveshaft will only move in/out maybe 1/2", and as it droops it should move in. If you need to, tip the pinion up a bit to close the driveshaft in some more, but you should be fine with a factory shaft.

maybe your having the same problem as i ran into. i just installed about 7+ inces of lift on the front and my driveshaft was about 1" away from front yoke. i measured the shaft extended and it only read 30" and i asked around and everyone else stock shaft was 33" so i just took my driveshaft to the shop down the road and retubed it and made it fit perfectly.
