Chrysler/Jeep spray paint OEM - no longer available?

I've searched the posts....

I'm trying to find a can of OEM spray paint - color PQ-7 - but have called around to all the dealers in my area and have had no luck. Most have told me that they no longer carry the older Jeep colors.

Since spray paint usually can't be mailed, what options do I have to secure some PQ-7?

1999 4.0 XJ.

Thanks

I can't find anything around here- even the duplicolor paints seem to be disco'ed (at least for mine). However, spray paint can be shipped via FedEx or UPS ground with no problems. I've ordered paint this way a few times already.

I've ordered from these guys (only place I could find my Stone White in stock)

And will probably try this guy once I get a grill and bezels

This place was mentioned in a thread around here (think someone was painting a bumper to match their XJ)

The local shops don't do aerosol cans here, so I'm going to go this route unless Napa can save the day. It's not OEM paint, but everybody mixes paint according to formulas. Paint is paint if it uses the same recipe. Hope that helps.

Try duplicolor at the autoparts store. I got a few cans of color for my 01 XJ. Advance was the only one who had it so you might need to shop around a bit.

The AA doesn't have my green and the catalog has specific years after 1997, but the other earlier available colors are bunched together.

If you have the actual Jeep Part Number (not just the color code) for your paint color you might be able to get it here - http://wholesalemopar.com/parts_catalog.html

Most body shop supply stores (and some body shops) can custom mix your paint color and put the paint into standard spray cans. A big bonus is you get body shop quality paints instead of the piss that Duplicolor puts in their cans. The cost is reasonable. www.paintscratch.com offers the same services, but their prices are higher.

I used automotivetouchup.com for my paint - it's not a perfect match, but it's really really close and it may in fact be off only because I did a single coat over black primer (PW1 Stone White here, not sure how coverage compares). Prices seemed decent and they were happy to mail it to me. I also got their HVLP spraygun set and a compressor+line filter at home depot.

Note: when the paint says to clean surfaces before shooting paint, take it seriously!

eventually im going to repaint my xj, half armor coating and half bright blue metallic like that new chevy blue or something

but to the OP, its easiest to just take a paint chip to the paint shop and have then match ur color, never seen them put it in a spray can but im sure they can do it
