Leak..

I have a leak that seems to be coming from the vents on my hood or somewhere there abouts??

to check we ran a hose over the rack down the windshield and it was leaking somewhere between the firewall and the heater core thing.

now of course all the carpets passenger side are smelly & wet from the leak..

anyone ever ran into this kind of thing before??

does it smell sweet???

if it does it anifreeze.

Mine was the windshield gasket itself.....blow compressed air along the lower edge between the glass and rubber seal to see if water is coming through. Use black silcone to seal accordingly. I also sealed between the rubber and the body.

The windshield gasket is a common source of leaks, but it's also possible that the cowl vent area has rusted through somewhere. I have seen rust develop in the area around the windshield wiper motor, but it is also possible that there is a hole beneath the blower fan. You may have to remove the fan to check for that.
