Seeing as there's no NAXJA FAQ, I thought it might be a good idea to start a single thread with links to good tech writeups.

Shucks - For that matter the FAQ should be a sticky, not something that has been stuck in committee for the last year. :huh:

I dont want to clutter this up with crap that isn't gonna be true tech but......Search in ADVANCE TECH, because it is obviously advanced tech.... Wooden Driveshaft (I think, Mambeu, that once everyone throws in a good amount of write-ups, you should compile the list of them that aren't jokes and make it into the FAQ thread and have a MOD make it a sticky at that point so all the write ups are in the first few posts and not scattered everywhere in this thread)

hmmm...such a great idea.....why's it taking SO DAMN LONG to get through committee's? Can't a MOD just throw up a sticky?

I see the Mods can at least edit my comments - too bad the FAQ can't get accomplished as readily. "NAXJA FAQ" is rapidly becoming a joke...
 
Yeah, I really don't have faith in the committee. If I need a write up I usually jump to other forums where they're on the first page with info instead of guesses. ITS TOO BAD WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!!

Mambeu, thank you for taking the inititative and doing something that appears to be very productive. This is a much better approach than simply complaining that SOMEBODY ELSE should be doing something.

I would love to Goatman, shoot me the permissions and I'll do what I can. I've just noticed that great threads like this fall into the cracks and die when no one posts on them for a while and all the effort is lost. (sorry for seeming like I'm a whiner...don't mean to be)

Back to the FAQ.....Do you think its a good idea to link other sites to here as well? Like, throw in all XJ related subjects, such as Yucca-man's web sites, or EricsXJ's, or GoJeep's?

Classic. Typical NAXJA answer...does anyone remember that NAXJA was initially supposed to be a place where we could find and share information about the XJ and MJ? The FAQ was supposed to be the end-all, be-all online repository of tech info and modifications for the Cherokee, second to the FSM but more user-accessible? Instead, the FAQ has languished in anonymity for ages while the membership of NAXJA squabbles in the private forums to determine who has a bigger tallywhacker - meanwhile forum users have postedd their own mini-FAQs full of XJ tech.. Kudos to them, and shame on y'all for being so petty about helping others.
 
Mambeu - thanks for taking the time to dig up those links. Sorry to pollute your thread, but I'm getting fed up with the childish crap 'round these parts and ended up venting it here.
 
Get on the toyota forum on pirate and look at the great FAQ they have put together. The best one on pirate for sure. I would post a link but they are down at the moment lol.
