I am going to visit one of the few Dodge dealers in the UK to enquire about the headlamp motors and switch for a Dodge Ram for Ryan. Is anyone else interested in the prices/part numbers for the European headlamp motor units and rear lights for an XJ?
The Ram has only been on sale here a few months so only new parts are available. I can easily get used lights and stuff from junkyards for XJs but they are probably not DOT legal. I figured if I can get the Mopar part numbers Jeep dealers in the USA may be able to source new parts as they are all American made.

I'm pretty sure Todd (Jeepzz) would love the info. I understand he has been collecting bits and pieces for some time.
At the very least it is something unaccessible to the US members. A great bit of tech.
I'm not sure if I will use it but once it is available, I may get the bug.

Can you elaborate on the headlamp motors?
Do they move the actual headlamp, or are they for fascia doors of some type??
Do you have ANY pics of what they look like??
Thanks-

Dave, you know me all too well. :D
Vince, I already have the XJ headlight leveling motors and switch for my HID headlights. I could use wiring pigtails for both, I also need the Euro headlight buckets and linkage that tie it into the motors.
Here's my setup. I've got the 4 switch panel for the rear fogs (an extended idle switch sits in there right now) and I have the leveling switch mounted in factory location in the center panel.

As for the Euro tail light with built in fog lights, I'd love to get a set but prices for these new are on the extreme side considering a used US spec tail light can be had for $20 USD.
I've contacted several auto breakers in the UK and most want waaaayyy too much for even used tail lights, wiring and the rear fog light switch; especially when they find out you want the parts shipped outside the UK. If you can get me those parts used without costing me an arm and a leg, that would be great. :woohoo:
There are several other interior & trim pieces I've been looking for from an Orvis Edition XJ. The top of the line Orvis was never offered for sale in the US (we top out with the Limited). I can PM you a parts 'wishlist' if you think you can help me locate some of these elusive parts.
I don't think shipping these parts to the US would be too difficult. I've shipped Jeep parts to Canada, the UK, Germany & and to Marcus down in Australia without much hassle from customs.

i too wonder about the same. if only some were available for a 99 ram 1500. who knows, maybe i can talk the wife into letting me get some for my NEXT tow rig-2002+ cummins powered (not in solar yellow) or it might end up being 2 tow rigs away.

Yes, the headlamp motors actually tilt the lamp glass up and down. They are great if you are towing and need to dip your lights further or offroad and need just that little more extra range on full beam.
Todd, PM me your wishlist and I will see what I can do. I am back in Utah in December and April and can easily bring an extra bag of parts as check-in luggage.
