This could be a way to boost recruitment. I don't see why they don't just continue burning it. It won't have any effect on people in the area.

Everybody knows that Afghani weed is bunk...

Seems to me that this could work as a way to fight the enemy, get them inhaling the smoke, then when they come out to take care of their munchy fix.........Whammo!

How does it feel to live with your head in the sand... Geez, you should leave your porch once in a while and travel, farther than your local beer store... And you wonder why people gun each other down. Land of the free my a$$.
My 5 cents.

Ok, then name one attack on "MY" country's soil since 9-11. I don't think his head is in the sand at all.

Why would they attack a country that harbors terrorists.
Besides what would they have to gain from attacking a WEAK country.:D:cheers:

I must say, your lack of respect for your Northern neighbours is quite disturbing. Weak? Harbouring terrorists? Have you looked at your , ahem, milicias down south and out in the mid west? Jeezus man, get real. At least we don't give the average 14 year old the right to go and buy a freaking hand canon at the local gun shop. Oh and I guess that the fact your boys' over in Afghanistan were constantly borrowing my Canadian flag patches, then pretending to be Canadian in order not to get flipped off by other ISAF countrys working with us has anything to do with how you are seen by the world... Oh yeah, it's great to be American...

Well I must say,Your lack of not knowing what:D  means is disturbing. Anyways it was a JOKE dumb ass, as far as the "hand canons"
I dont know of anywhere in the US that a 14yr old can buy a "hand canon" legaly or any other gun for that mater. besides I know of lots of responsible 14yr olds that can and have the right to USE a weapon. Its called hunting.

Before the end of slavery, they used to grow hemp on plantations in NW Missouri. 120 years after the Civil War a bunch of graduate Anthro students (your's truely included) was stomping along through the area looking for Missouri Indian remains when somebody stops, lifts his nose into the air and sniffs - "sniff, sniff. What is that?" Others - "sniff, sniff. Nahh. Couldn't be." We followed our noses and sure enough, a huge stand of cannibis just inside the tree line along the edge of a soy bean field.

Turns out the stuff went feral after the war (the plantations went bust with no slaves to break down the hemp into fibre) and it grows wild all over NW Missouri. A couple of the guys on the crew cut a bunch and dried it. They filled a whole box of Glad sandwich bags with grass and passed it out at a Dead concert in KC - that was July of '82. They reported that it was almost useless. It sure was some skunky chit! We never tried scraping the leaves. That might have been more productive :D

I heard a story on the news a few years later that a task force of Sheriffs' departments from NW Missouri was stamping out all the wild stands 'cause they were interfering with prosecuting actual cultivators. I don't know how successful they were.

In '74 my dad was working in the C&NW yards in DeKalb, IL and there was alot of these plants growing along the tracks in the yard, almost looking like the pic I posted. A circus train had pulled into the yard had to stop since it didn't have a clear signal to continue and stopped next to these plants. Much to dad's suprise, almost immediatly after the train stopped the whole circus crew, sideshow freaks and all, poored out of the train, garbage bags in hand to do a little harvesting of their own. Shortly after that the cars that held the elephants started to lean in that direction as the elephants started taking trunkfulls of the plants, ripping them out of the ground and pulling them into their own railcars!

That's funny. It's all over the midwest, but I have never seen it as thick as in NW Mo. Although, there was quite a bit around Marshall, Mo. in the 'big bend' area of the Missouri River. I've seen it in the fence rows along Hy 40.

I'm trully sorry if I ruffled anybody's feathers on this post. Not my style. I just had a bad couple of weeks is all. Having to bury friends is no fun at all, and I have a hard time coping with all that crap. War sucks, which ever way you look at it, you loose.
