A buddy and I are getting to Moab early in the morning and the rest of the group is arriving around noon. Are there any good runs you can do in a morning. I'm open to easy/scenic all the way to as hard as they get.
Both rigs are well built and drivers are very experienced. I've run lots of trails around Moab, but most were all day affairs. My first thought is Moab Rim. I figure with only two rigs we should be able to clean it in 2-3 hours as long as we don't get behind a large group.
Also, any updates on Kane Creek. I like that trail. Has the washout been dealt with?
We are going to be there Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun of next week. All are welcome.

The Rim is a good quick trail, if run clean..:gag:
Kane creek, when you get to the wash out(as of last Thursday) you can take the path to the left(although I do believe it might end up being illegal), kind of steep and loose, just watch tire placement up and down...
Tom, I'm sure you are familiar with Pioson Spider(a nice quick run in 2-3 hours), another might be Steel Bender, a clean run you can do in about 4 hours.

I figured one of you guys would bust my chops about Moab Rim. :nono:
As far as I'm concerned it is an easy trail if your power steering doesn't take a dump.
Any of the locals want to come along?

Meh, Power steering is over-rated,, particlarly on the Rim, just like brakes...:D

I turned the wheel so forcefully trying to get the 35's to turn that I put about a 45 degree twist in the shaft from the steering wheel to the Saginaw unit, and that from a guy that has a handicap license plate.

A buddy, Jon Jacobs summed that trail up the best that I have heard. It isn't a hard trail but it sure is a bad luck trail.

Luck is in the eye of the beholder.
I'd say you were damn lucky that big ass rock was there, considering the drop off that's not too far on the other side of it. :sunshine:

I did hells revenge with one other rig last spring in just over 2 hours. not a whole lot of stops and we didn't hit the overlook (seen it a dozen times). Might be a nice alternative to the bad luck trail. I'm heading down wednesday evening... staying at the apache hotel. Here's my rig (the blue xj) and my cousins 89 yj. hope to see you down there.
