Hello.
I have an '87 xj with a 4L that doesn't run (not a surprise it has 600,000km and then sat for 2 years before i got it). I was planing on building it into a 4.6L stroker. I was wondering if it would bolt up/plug into my '94 xj. and if the H.O. intake and head would work on there as well.

I don't think there would be any problems with that setup, you are going to run it with the OBDI sensors, wiring, and electronics, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Do some searching on here for HO to Renix engine swaps. There are quite a few detailed postings, some with pictures, that you'll find very helpful.

When I did my 87 to 96 HO engine swap. I stripped everything out of the 87 including the tailight wiring. Took everything from the 96 donor and installed in the 87.

Took extra time ...But I think it saved me time in the long run.
