I got over mud when I was 16 when a buddy of mine hydrolocked his SBC powered 74 landcruiser. I run rock and avoid mud like the swine flu.

Mud is cool if you are familiar with it. Hitting an unknown mud hole can be quite the thrill though.

Yeah mud sucks. As much as I try to avoid mud I can't help but hit it. "Mud is like a hot chic with an STD, you know the results will be bad but you just gotta hit it."

Tow points front and rear. Friends to help get you out of what ever bind you are in. A strap with NO HOOKS! In all reality that is all you need to wheel anywhere. A more agressive tire would be nice, lockers help a ton, and a winch is worth its weight in gold sometimes. You should come to the Crawl next weekend in AL with us.

yeah, i've been there.... i bent the valves in my first motor by filling it up with water, then trying to start it again without taking out the spark plugs. it still ran, it just rattled pretty loud above 3k rpms.
i replaced that motor, and ended up blowing out the rear main seal on the new one after 4 months, revving around 5k for twenty minutes or so, trying to get out of some real sloppy junk in west tn. there is no bottom to the mud in the mississipi floodplain, just more mud. now, i try to stay out of mud that goes over the top of my tires if i can, and if i do happen to get stuck, i don't try as hard as i used to to get out under my own power. i bought a winch and now i'm spoiled on gettin out slow and easy-like...

Wow Dude I feel for ya but at least you got made out alright. Ive seen some horror stories happen in mud! Personally I don't really like rock crawling either seen to may horror stories there too I would just rather stick to trails for me that's where i have the most fun but to each his own! Where were you when you got stuck? Doesn't look to familiar to me. I live in Charlotte so we should get together and do some trail riding at URE!
